Workforce needs

Dr. Cathy Hall joins us tomorrow 01-APRIL for her discussion on attracting, retaining and preparing engineering leaders for tomorrow’s workforce.  She highlights differences between what students think is important and what industry values in their employees.

Through her collaborative efforts with the Department of Engineering over the last several years, she has evaluated data from both our students as well as high schoolers who participated in our STEM summer program that was funded by a NSF ITEST grant.

She has a doctorate in Education Psychology from the University of Georgia.  She also has an Educational Specialist degree and a Masters of education in School Psychology from UGA.  She has an undergraduate degree from Emory University in Psychology.

Five years after receiving her Doctorate she moved to Greenville to work at ECU.  This is currently her 24 year at East Carolina.  Prior to coming to ECU she was at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas where she had a split appointment in the Psychology Department and the Kelly Psychological Services Center.

She is the member of several professional organizations including: American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, Southeastern Psychological Association, Sigma Xi a scientific research society.  She has three main areas of research interest: ADHD, social-emotional adjustment of special populations, and learning styles and strategies.
