Growing strong leaders and team champions in work, life and technology

Student gives to community as Soccer coach

Pirate Engineer Profile:  Dustin Rogers is majoring in engineering with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering.  He already holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Fitness from ECU.  He decided to work towards a second degree in engineering so that he could understand biomedical systems from a different approach and creatively apply knowledge of both fields upon entering the workforce.  Originally from Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, Rogers gives his free time outside of engineering studies to coach a local Pitt County youth soccer team.  He expects to graduate with his engineering degree from ECU in December 2011.  His fall 2010 course project is to evaluate growth of tissue cells on nanofiber scaffolds, and he plans to continue with this research during the remainder of his time at ECU.    Dustin is a great example of Pirate Engineers dedicated to their education and the community.
