Robert A. “Bob” Chin, PhD

Robert A. “Bob” Chin is the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (formerly National Association of Industrial Technology) accredited BS in Design program coordinator, Department of Technology Systems, College of Technology and Computer Science, East Carolina University. The program comprises two concentrations: architectural technology and mechanical technology, and two minors: architectural design technology and mechanical design technology.  Chin joined the ECU faculty in 1986 after receiving his PhD in technology education from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has served as the acting chair for the ECU’s Department of Construction Management and is the contact person for ATMAE accreditation and reaccreditation. In addition, Chin is a full member of the ECU and Indiana State University graduate faculties.  Prior to assuming his current position, Chin was an instructor, Department of Industrial, Technological, and Occupational Education, College of Education, University of Maryland, College Park; and an instructor, Sioux Falls Independent School District.  Dr. Chin also spent over 30 years of service to the Air National Guard, retiring as Colonel in 2006.
